Lahania beach is a vast stretch of sand and shingle where even in the height of the season you could find yourself one of less than half a dozen people sharing a mile of beach. Perfect for swimming, the beach offers peace and quiet, the only sound being the gentle lapping of waves, and the birds singing as they gather in the growth in the nearby sand dunes. Lahania village nestles on the hill a short drive from the beach. The sea can be seen from the outskirts of the village, at 2km a little too far to walk in the heat of the summer sun for most of us but only minutes in the car.
